Sources of Revenue for the New Company - Assignment Example It is evidently clear from the discussion that when the new company is being opened up, it will have to encounter a number of start-up costs. These costs will consist largely of new equipment that the company will have to buy up to provide production and hosting for customers. In addition, other costs will include the materials that will have to be used to manufacture coffee and other food items. The new company will have to invest in coffee roasters, mixing and blending machines, a refrigerator, baking machines (if the company chooses to bake its own products) and furniture for hosting the clients. Furthermore, the company will have to pay for the security and rent of the shop they occupy along with some renovation costs. In terms of materials, the company will have to buy up coffee beans, cream, milk, flour, sugar, and other such consumables.  Other than these costs, the company will have to look into recurring expenditures such as costs of utilities and pays for part-time worker s. Based on these projections, the company may or may not make profits depending on the market they are present in as well as the financial backing they have available to continue with these expenses in the beginning. The owners will have to focus on the economic environment because economic recession and a slow resurgence of the economy have meant that disposable incomes are low. People would be less than willing to spend more on items such as coffee and non-essential food items because their finances would be already restrained. Another external environment that the owners would need to look into is the political environment.

Sunnyvale Foods Marketing Analysis Essay Sunnyvale Foods is a brand of canned and frozen fruits and vegetables as well as condiments. While the firm has been around for over a hundred years, their profits have started to decline. From the statement given by the former president of Sunnyvale Foods, it can be deduced that the firm has a production oriented marketing concept. Rather than producing to meet a need, the firm is producing in anticipation of a need. Sunnyvale Foods focuses on mass marketing, aiming at â€Å"everyone† rather than target marketing a specific group (i. e. -busy families). The marketing mix is comprised of the â€Å"four P’s†: product, place, promotion, and price. The product is a line of 65 food items. The place is limited to chain supermarket stores limited by their ability to carry the entire line of 65 foods that the firm produces. Promotion of the firm as described in the case was vague but did mention sales promotion such as manufacturer’s coupons. The price is in the range of competitors but in today’s rushed society, many food brands don’t have the advantage of customer loyalty which results in losing customers to either the store brand or another brand that is offered on sale. The main competitive advantage of Sunnyvale Foods is the history of the business. Based solely on their 127 year old business, their name has become a reputable one. Their primary disadvantage is their vast line of products. By producing 65 different products, they lose advantages found in economies of scale. Also, by having a strict policy requiring stores that carry their product to carry all 65 items, they are given a disadvantage by limiting their potential retailer pool and complicating the process of resupplying inventory. To be stuck in the middle mean to be between differentiations, focus strategy, and cost leadership. While Sunnyvale Foods is focusing on one specific niche of the market, their differentiation is limited to various types of the same product rather than new products. Also, as stated in the case â€Å"no company in the industry has much effect on the price at which its products are sold. † The primary issue with Sunnyvale foods is that the firm is marketing for a production in a marketing company era. While the firm was very successful in years past, the market has changed and that needs to be recognized in their marketing strategy beginning with becoming a marketing oriented firm and finding a target market.

The Work of Poet and Philosoher Archibald Lampman Poet and philosopher Archibald Lampman (1861-1899) led not a life of his own, but an existance forced upon him by peers and an unfeeling and cold society. Dying far before his time, Lampman led a life of misery. He was supported only by a few close friends and his immortal poetry. This essay is founded around one particular of his works but I feel it necessary to discuss the conditions in which he lived in order to fully understand what he was trying to express and/or symbolize. Lampman really hated his day to day life, he lived only for his friends and his works. Trapped in a city for which he had no love, he often reflected his loathing of it in his numerous works situated in cities. A lover of nature, Lampmans poems often immediately assumed a tone of life, mirth, and a feeling of pleasure and warmth; the others formed a picture of death, hell, and hate all held together by the one problem that is always present, Man. With few close friends like Duncan Campell Scott, and other that were poetically inclinded, Lampman formed a group through-out collage that met frequently to write and discuss. Close friends like that influenced him to write such popular pieces as "Heat" and "A sunset at Les Eboulements" and yet in his darkest moments we get the main topic of this essay "The City of The End of Things". Like most great poets, Lampmans moods and feelings had a direct effect on the nature and topic of his poetry. Lampman chief poetry was done after a great joy in his life, or a great sadness. Sadly, Archibald was not a rich man and lived not a happy life, and most of his poetry reflects that. "The City of The End of Things" was written in a time of great sadness and hate for the world. Published one year after his death many people fail to realize the direct connection to themselves in the poem. Lampmans poetry was divided into two moods, saddness and joy, each primarly involed with nature or cities. Let us discuss the tools used in "The City of The End of Things". Dubed "The Apocalypic City" by Many experts, these mutations of the apocalypic city shows how much Lampmans visions shifted with his moods. He was passionatly committed to social change, but in extreme he identified redemption with paralyzed oblivion (N.G Guthrie) The infernal features of the City are so many inversions of the values that Lampmans saw in natural landscape. Irish Culture

Struggles between different national, cultural, and religious identities became known as â€Å"trouble times† in Northern Ireland. The fighting began as far back as 1921, and did not reach an agreement, called the Good Friday Agreement until May 22, 1998. The Protestant’s considers them self British and supports the United Kingdom, or Unionist. While the Catholics, which are in the minority only by 44%, considers thierself to be Irish. The Catholics want a united Ireland and most are nationalist. â€Å"The latest version of â€Å"the troubles† in Northern Ireland was sparked in late 1968, when a civil rights movement was launched mostly by Catholics, who had long faced discrimination in areas such as electoral rights, housing, and employment. This civil rights movement was met with violence by extreme unionists and the police, which in turn prompted armed action by nationalists and republicans. Increasing chaos and escalating violence led the UK government to deploy the British Army on the streets of Northern Ireland in 1969 and to impose direct rule from London in 1972. † (Archick, 2013) Trying to come to a resolution in Northern Ireland the government signed the peace treaty known as the Good Friday Agreement, it transfer the power from London to Belfast where the two parties, Northern Ireland Assembly and Executive Committee, or the Nationalist and Unionist would share power. Define the 4th 5th 6th and 14th Amendments Essay

The Constitution is the highest law in the United States. All other laws come from the Constitution and Amendments. It rules how the government should work. It creates the Presidency, Congress, and the Supreme Court. Each state also has a constitution. The constitutions of the states are their highest law for that state — but the United States Constitution is higher. The Constitution can be changed, and it’s changed by an â€Å"amendment.† Among the amendments is a list of the rights of the people. It is illegal for the government to violate those rights. As of 2006, there are 27 amendments. Not all of them involve rights, but many do. The first ten amendments are special. They are called the Bill of Rights. An outline of the 4th, 5th, 6,th and 14th Amendments of the Constitution are as follows.The 4th Amendment, prohibits unreasonable searches and seizures and requires a warrant to be issued by a judge. The ultimate goal of this provision is to protect peopleâ⠂¬â„¢s right to privacy and freedom from arbitrary governmental intrusions. The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated. But no Warrant, but upon probable cause. The 5th Amendment, protects you from being held for committing a crime unless you have been indicted correctly by the police. Also that the state have to respect your legal rights. Double Jeopardy is also described as you can not be tried for the same crime twice, unless it’s a mistrial or hung Jury. The most well known right of the 5th Amendment is your Miranda Rights; right against compelled self-incrimination. Also you can not be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against yourself. A person who is â€Å"in custody† must be given the Miranda warning to protect his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. However, the second part of the Miranda warning protects a suspect’s Sixth Amendment right to counsel. The Miranda warning is read as follows: You hav e the right to remain silent. If you do say anything, it can be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to have a lawyer present during any questioning. If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be appointed for you if you so desire. The 6th Amendment, of the Unites States Constitution of the Bill of Rights guarantees a citizen a speedy trial, a fair jury, an attorney if the accused person wants one, and the chance to confront the witnesses who is accusing the defendant of a crime, meaning he or she can see who is making accusations. Also the accused has the right to force anyone to come to their trial that they believe can help their case. The 14th Amendment was one of America’s three Reconstruction Amendments. Adopted on July 9, 1868, the 14th Amendment was aimed at protecting the citizenship rights and equal protection of all Americans but primarily former slaves. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
